Whole-home renovations, additions, and high-end kitchen remodels, designed and built by an owner-led team. No project manager handoffs. No surprise change orders. Just clean work that holds the line on your budget, your timeline, and your designer's vision.

Lily will reach out within a few hours to schedule your walkthrough with Josh. Keep an eye on your phone. We usually call from a 623 area code.
Most of the homeowners who call us aren't trying to move. They love the lot, they love the street, they love the schools. The house just isn't keeping up with how they actually live anymore.
Closed off, dated, awkward for entertaining. Every dinner party reminds you it's time.
Two kids became three. A home office became two. The primary closet feels like a coat closet.
Budget creep, vanishing crews, work that has to be torn out and redone. You're not doing that again.
You hired someone good. You need a builder who executes the vision, not one who "improvises" past it.
We run every project ourselves, from demo day to the final walk-through. Not a project manager. Not a junior super.
You work directly with the owner, the one your designer texts, the one your subs answer to. No handoffs. When something needs a call made, it gets made by the person whose name is on the license.
Line by line. No vague "allowances" hiding the real number. You know what you're paying for before you sign. And if something changes mid-build, you see it written down before any work happens.
If you've got an architect or designer involved, we treat their plans as the brief, not a starting point we override. Designers refer clients to us because we don't make them re-fight battles they already won.
Rolling, real, and sent to you in advance, so you know who's at your house Monday, what's happening Wednesday, and when the cabinet install lands. No more "we'll let you know."
Real homes. Real clients. Most of these were full-home renovations, additions, or kitchens designed in tandem with the homeowner's architect or designer.
No staged testimonials. Just real homeowners who hired us and would do it again.
"I have used Josh at Virtue Design & Build for multiple renovations across multiple properties for years and I simply can't recommend him highly enough. I work with contractors regularly in my line of work and have worked with others on previous real estate projects as well and Josh and his team are easily the best. His communication throughout a project is clear and timely. When things don't go to plan (as they inevitably do) the details and options are presented honestly. The work that is done with quality and integrity. I simply won't use anyone else for my projects in the Phoenix metro area."
"My wife and I purchased a home and requested a quote from Josh at Virtue Design & Build for some remodeling work before we moved in. I sketched some ideas on paper and after discussing our wish list Josh provided a fair number we could work with. We enlarged the entrance to the formal dining room and changed the configuration of the tv wall to accommodate a larger size tv and added an electric fireplace. The entire process from start to finish was smooth and the workers completed a very professional job. We highly recommend Josh and his crew. They are trustworthy and live up to the company name!"
"Experience working with Josh and his team was great. They were very patient with me and working through the design and timing of the install. Team was very professional and courteous. They addressed all my questions, comments and concerns without hesitation. The team strives to delivery a quality product and that's exactly what I received! Thanks Josh and team. Look forward to the next project."
From the first call to the final walk-through, here's exactly what happens.
Lily picks up the intake the day you reach out. Quick 10-minute chat to understand the scope and schedule the walkthrough.
We come to the property and walk the project with you (and your designer if you have one), then follow up with a rough number.
If the rough number works, we send a fully itemized written estimate. Zoom call with the GC to walk every line. Adjust anything before you sign.
Construction contract, deposit, and we're on site. Rolling schedule shared a week ahead. We see it through until it's done.

Our average project lands around $250K, with most of our work falling in the $150K–$500K range. That covers full kitchen remodels, primary suite expansions, additions, and whole-home renovations.
We don't do small punch-list jobs or one-off handyman work. Not because they aren't important, but because we'd be a bad fit. You'd be paying for systems and oversight that small jobs don't need.
Not necessarily. About half of our clients already have an architect or interior designer in place when they call, and we slot right into that team. The other half don't, and we can recommend designers we've worked with and trust.
Either way, the design comes first. We don't try to build something we haven't fully drawn.
Honest answer: it depends. A high-end kitchen runs roughly 10–14 weeks. A primary suite addition is typically 4–6 months. A whole-home renovation can be 6–12 months depending on scope.
What we promise isn't a magic-fast timeline. It's that you'll have a real, written schedule from day one, updated weekly, with a one-week look-ahead so you're never guessing what happens tomorrow.
Yes. We're a KB-2 Licensed General Contractor in the State of Arizona, ROC #359699. Fully insured. We can send proof of insurance any time you ask.
Nothing changes without you seeing it in writing first. If a structural surprise comes up mid-demo, or you decide to upgrade a material, you get a written change order with the cost impact before any work happens. No "we'll just add it to the final invoice." That's how clients get burned, and we don't run our shop that way.
We stay hands-on with your job. We use a stable group of subs we've worked with for years (framing, tile, electrical, plumbing), and we manage them directly. You'll see the same faces from week one to the final walk-through. No revolving door.
The initial walkthrough and rough number are free. If you want to move forward after that, we put together a fully detailed, itemized written estimate, and walk through it with you on a Zoom call before you sign anything. No pressure, no upsell. If the number doesn't work, you walk away with a real understanding of what your project would cost.
We only take on a handful of projects at a time. It's how we keep quality up. If you're thinking about starting in the next few months, now's the right time to grab a walkthrough slot.
Limited walkthrough slots open this month.
